The CEE GSAC is made up of graduate students across all 10 areas of specialization to function and act as the voice for the CEE student body.

Environmental Rep
Gus is a PhD Student in Environmental. His research with Prof. Espinosa-Marzal involves tailoring surface properties of 2D materials for sustainable applications. He enjoys hiking, video games, model kits, and petting his cat while contemplating life.
Laura Gray
EWES Rep
Laura is a PhD Student in EWES. Her research with Prof. Stillwell and Prof. Zhao involves modeling green infrastructure using Earth System Models in urban areas. She enjoys bouldering, choir, dance, video games, and reading.
Abby Beck
SRHM Rep
Abby is a PhD Student in SRHM. Her research with Prof. Cha involves incorporating equity into infrastructure decision-making for improved community resilience. She enjoys pottery, baking, and knitting.
Javier Garcia Mainieri
Transportation/ Railway Rep
Javier is a PhD Student in Transportation. His research with Prof. Al-Qadi involves sustainable asphalt concrete. He enjoys waterpolo and triathlon.

Jack is a MS Student in Water Resources. His research with Prof. Tinoco involves environmental fluid mechanics. He enjoys ultimate frisbee and whitewater kayaking.

Structures Rep
Casey is a PhD Student in Structures. Her research with Prof. Spencer involves computer graphics, vision, and learning for structures. She enjoys playing and making video games, 2D / 3D art, and reading.

Josiane is a PhD Student in Geotechnical. Her research with Prof. Baser involves Multiphysics modeling for geoenvironmental applications. She enjoys yoga, working out, and reading.

Jiayi is a PhD Student in Construction Management. Her research with Prof. El-Gohary involves building energy efficiency with machine learning and AI. She likes reading, tarot, and animation.
Jesus Castro
Materials Rep
Jesús Castro is a Ph.D. Student in Construction Materials. His research with Prof. Roesler involves developing Nondestructive Testing techniques and roller-compacted concrete. His personal interests include biking and cooking.
Yaman Garg
SRIS Rep
Yaman Garg is a MS student in SRIS. He is part of Prof. Garg’s group where he is working on low-cost Raman spectroscopy for civil material characterization. He loves watching F1, playing board games, and hiking.
