The CEE GSAC consists of graduate students across all 10 areas of specialization to function and act as the voice for the CEE student body.

Anson Regi
Environmental Rep
Anson is an MS student in Environmental Engineering. His research with Prof. Verma involves investigating non-volatile particulate matter in the atmosphere. He enjoys playing soccer (competitive & rec) and is always down for hiking, swimming or anything that gets you moving!
Ximin Piao
EWES Rep
Ximin is a PhD Candidate in EWES. Her research with Prof. Matthews involves modeling C allocation in crops in different environments. She enjoys badminton, snowboarding, running, skating, singing, dancing, and reading.
Limo Schissler
Structures Rep
Limo is a PhD student in Structures. Their research with Prof. Fahnestock, Prof. LaFave, and Prof. Elbanna involves laser scanning and assessment of steel bridge girders damaged by impact from over-height vehicles. They enjoy baking, reading, running, playing the trumpet, and cheering on the Illini athletic teams.
Johann J Cardenas
Transportation/ Railway Rep
Johann is a PhD Student in Transportation. His research with Prof. Al-Qadi involves computational pavement mechanics and vehicle dynamics. He enjoys dancing, running, and food tasting.
Ritu Das
Water Resources Rep
Ritu is a PhD student in Water Resources. Her research with Prof. Marcelo Garcia involves sediment transport dynamics in the Missouri River. She enjoys singing, dancing, traveling with family and friends, and exploring foods.
Daniel Jimenez Gil
SRIS Rep
Daniel is a second-year PhD student in the Sustainable & Resilient Infrastructure Systems (SRIS) program. His research with Prof. Alipour investigates human behavior during bridge inspections and SAR operations. In his free time he likes to take care of plants, play pickleball, and code side projects.
Shamontee Aziz
Geotech Rep
Shamontee is a PhD Student in Geotech. Her research with Prof. Olson involves investigating nontraditional additive-reinforced soil. She enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and food.
Kinda Al Kalal
Construction Management
Kinda is a fourth year PhD student in Construction Engineering and Management. Her
research focuses on optimizing winter road maintenance operations resource allocation using data-driven decision support systems. Beyond research, she enjoys photography, exploring nature, hiking, and sweet treats.
